Hey! A pleasure to meet you! I’m currently a Product Analyst at Grab, following a short stint at A*STAR as a full stack developer and running my own startup, ZaiBike.
I grew up in Singapore, and graduated from Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) with a major in Information Systems Technology and Design (ISTD).
I see myself as a product developer, with an interest in data-driven product design. I believe that there is so much out there we can improve through the use of smart technology, and the understanding of user habits and personalities from these applications can be used to optimise everything from how cities are planned, to how businesses are run. My experience in data analytics, and both front-end and back-end development lends itself well to my goal as a product developer too.
I’ve kept myself busy throughout the years, always taking the opportunity to stay busy with side project. I’ve done things from materials science research, to creating mobile games, to my biggest undertaking till date: ZaiBike.

ZaiBike is a smart bicycle sharing system where users are able to rent a bicycle from their current location and return it at their destination. It differs from conventional station-based systems by allowing the user to park the bicycle anywhere. The parking system then evolves dynamically over time to optimise between user convenience, operational cost, and orderliness through IoT and data analytic applications.
Have you ever worried about forgetting to switch off a water heater or an air conditioner after you left home for a long trip? Well, you won’t have to worry about that anymore with Home Intelligence System (HIS)! HIS combines a network of smart switches which enables the user to control every switch in his household from his mobile. It has the potential to retrieve information such as the power consumption of each individual socket and to improve safety standards by cutting off the power to any socket if overheating or overloading occurs.
Murder Mansion is a 2D multiplayer role playing game that can host between 2 to 6 players. The game revolves around 2 roles: the Civilian and the Murderer, each having unique abilities, items, and weapons. Your objective is to try to survive the perils of the mansion as a civilian, or execute your scheme to put the F in Fear as the murderer.
Cartography touched on the science behind drawing maps, on how maps can be used as visual tools to convey messages. In here, I learnt how maps are a powerful way to visualise data that can be easily translated onto maps – from identifying dengue hotspots, to determining the best location to launch a bicycle sharing system.
